Our gelatos are made by hand daily on the premise only with premium natural fresh ingredients. Unlike the commercially produced ice cream, we don't add manufactured cream and preservatives. Their water ice and cream ices were manufactured and sold. Nancy Johnson invented the first hand cranked freezer in 1843. Italo Marchiony invented the ice cream cone in New York in 1896. The great depression saw huge growth the ice cream equipment industry as many drugstores expanded into the manufacturing of ice cream to supplement their business and bringing home made ice cream to the masses. the 60's brought us the "fast food" culture and soft serve ice cream and milk shakes were the order of the day. the 80's saw the frozen yogurt explosion with nonfat and lowfat products dominating the scene. the 90's brought us the gourmet ice cream, specialty ice cream, and micro batch ice cream manufacturing.
Sorbeto is a blend of 70 % - 80 % fresh fruit with just a touch of water and sugar to achieve a smooth constancy. Mondo Gelato's sorbet does not contain any colorings or any other artificial ingredients. The sorbets are also dairy-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free. |
